From Honourable Ayesha Bano Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa & Parliamentary Secretary of Higher Education

I have been a member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly since August 2018. My political career began in early 2010s and took off when I became the President for PTIs women wing for KP Province in 2015. As a legislator and political leader, my objectives are directed towards achieving social justice and reduction of inequality. I have a degree in Law, and see myself as building a career as a legislator in regional and national level political landscapes. I am currently involved in several endeavors of the provincial government that seek to reduce inequality between the genders. I am also part of several standing committees of the provincial government as an active and participating member. I have a special interest towards fighting child abuse and am a member of PAC, a volunteer group working on child abuse prevention and awareness.

Dear Students, Parents, Teachers, Colleagues and Friends,

It is a great pleasure to support the “Toilets Making the Grade” school competitions in our schools in Khyper Pashtunkwa. I am excited about the uniqueness of this competition which addresses everyone at school and brings them together to work on solutions for challenges related to water, sanitation and hygiene. With better cleanliness and hygiene in our schools, we will learn in a healthier environment which enables to perform better! There is a direct interconnection between school attendance, health, adequate school toilets and proper handwashing. Therefore, it is so crucial to improve the sanitation and hygiene situation of our schools.

I am very enthralled by this approach which is applied in Balochistan as well. I am grateful to the Department of Education as well as for GIZ and SABAWON for its support in making the school competitions happen.

As your participation is the driver of success, I wish you good ideas and excitement during the development of your proposals and I look forward to seeing the creativity, innovativeness and teamwork in your schools.

Thank you!

Ayesha Bano
